Foxes in WoW Forever: where to tame the new pet family

Foxes are the one completely new hunter pet family in WoW Forever, and you tame them on Zephras Isle. The vuldren and slyverns there are tagged as foxes, and they come with their own family ability, Trickster's Dance.

You do not need a Skyborne character to get there. Horde hunters can take the zeppelin from Skywatcher Plateau in Mulgore.

What does Trickster's Dance do?

It raises the fox's dodge chance by 50% and cuts the time between its attacks by 30%, for 12 seconds. Testers put the cooldown at about 3 minutes. One tester's Vuldren Alpha swings at 1.4 while the dance is up.

Put together, a fox is hard to hit and then very busy for a short window. It suits pulling one mob at a time.

Where do you find foxes on Zephras Isle?

Testers have not posted exact spawn spots yet. They have tamed vuldren in orange, off-white and black so far. Two named foxes are worth knowing about.

Slydris is the gold vuldren, a rare. One tester found it right after a server restart. Another camped it for more than 12 hours without a spawn.

Vulgara the Insatiable is an elite slyvern with a dark coat and the target of a level 9 wanted quest. Her base swing is 1.5.

Why is my fox coded as a wolf?

Some of them are, for now. Vulgara is tameable, but the game treats her as a wolf. She uses wolf sounds, and she learns neither Trickster's Dance nor Furious Howl. Testers expect the label to change to fox before launch.

Known fox bugs

• Foxes cannot be taught through Beast Training yet.
• Slydris only offers Bite 2 in the training window, and it cannot learn Growl even with enough training points.

If you want a fox for the look, tame one now. If you want one that learns everything, it may be worth waiting for a patch. The fox family page will change as soon as the bugs do.
